As a DA we are interested in what you as a member would like the committee to arrange on your behalf, we have therefore designed a suggestions form for you to complete and return so that we can discuss these ideas at our committee meetings.


The forms can be download from  this link or the crates that go out to every meet will have some forms in or you can contact our secretary Nina Zizka 01394 276885 and she’ll forward one to you.




          Commission for New Members


It has been approved by the communication committee for the region that as a DA we can claim commission for any new members we sign up. We have been issued with some new members forms which have our unique number on them. Some of these will be placed in the crates (which go out to every meet) within the next week alternatively you can contact Nina Zizka on 01394 276885 our secretary who will be happy to forward one on to you.

Subject: Re Registering your Vote


Hello Nina,

           Please can you remind your members to register either on the Members Area of the Club website or phone 023 8076 2876 the latter being for a postal vote,if they wish to vote for a National Council Member to be elected. There will be no voting forms this year in the Club magazine and phone calls to be in by 17th August and 31st August for online registering to receive by email.

              Suggestion Form

We have received a suggestion form asking that in the summer when we haven’t got a hall that it would be nice to have coffee mornings on a Saturday as this would then give chance for campers to meet up instead of leaving it till Sunday morning when everybody is packing up to go home.


Committee’s reply: Thanks for your suggestion we do as a committee value people’s comments on what they think about the way our meets are run and changes we could make.

Each meet is run individually by the stewards not the committee and it is up to them if and when they do their coffee morning. We can see that it would be nice for people to get together before Sunday but it is also nice for people to be able to go off and explore the area they are camping in. Any stewards wishing to have a coffee morning on a Saturday are more than welcome to do so.

           A NEW TREASURER FOR SSDA

Your committee is pleased to announce that they have appointed Toni Baker as Treasurer from 1st January 2012.

She will take over from Darin who is retiring as treasurer, you will see Darin I am sure out camping and at the AGM

in April when the accounts will be presented.

Our thanks go to Darin for all his hard work for the DA and to Toni for volunteering.



The Camping & Caravanning Club Headquarters have written to me to ask if any of are members would be interested in Stewarding some sites for the Olympic Games between the 20th July – 20th August, you would not be expected to work the whole month but would need to advise which dates you would be available, there are 4 sites in total and you would be expected to work 4 days on then 4 days off. You would get some expenses paid and a living allowance for the days you worked plus a free pitch for the duration of your working agreement. If you are interested and require some further information please contact me via email as all forms need to be sent via the secretary.

Valentine’s Meet at Sutton Cancelled

The SSDA Committee regretfully has decided to cancel the Valentine’s Meet at Sutton from the 10th to the 12th February. This is due to the inclement weather conditions and the unsuitable condition of the camping grounds. Apologies to everybody.
